Can Invisalign Be Worn Only at Night?
For years, Invisalign has been known as the best way for patients to straighten their teeth and achieve beautiful smiles. It’s comfortable, discreet, and does not interfere with everyday life. While Invisalign aligners may be removed for brushing, flossing, eating, and drinking, they must be worn between 20 and 22 hours a day. This way, the teeth can be moved into their proper positions.
If you would like to ensure Invisalign works in 2020, you must adhere to your orthodontist’s directions. In the event you do not wear your aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours a day, your treatment will not be effective.

Here at Sims Orthodontics, the best orthodontics practice for children and adults, many patients ask us if they can simply wear their Invisalign aligners at night. Unfortunately, this is not an option as doing so will not give their aligners enough time to work their magic. Since Invisalign can fit in so easily with your lifestyle, it’s best to just wear your aligners throughout the day. If you only wear your Invisalign at night, you are not going to allow the aligners to do their job. It would be similar to working out or running really hard and then going to McDonald’s and eating a Big Mac after every single work out.

Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible so you don’t have to be embarrassed about undergoing treatment. In addition, they don’t come with any wires or bracket so there’s no reason to be concerned about any pain or discomfort. Once you see how comfortable and convenient Invisalign is, you won’t have any issues wearing aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day.
