At the end of March 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that all orthodontist offices are required to close. In Phase 2 of Re-Open Florida, however, he stated that they were allowed to open up once again. This is great news if you’re an orthodontic patient who hasn’t had your teeth checked out in a while.
Sims Orthodontics, a leading orthodontist office in Pensacola is excited to reopen our doors. Of course, we will do our best to ensure the safest environment possible for all patients and staff.
Mask Policy
Perhaps the most common question Dr. Sims and his team have received lately “Are masks required?” Since the Mayor of Pensacola has required masks within city limits, we highly recommend them. But if you visit our office without a mask, rest assured we’ll still treat you or your child. Remember that even if you do come masked, we will have to remove your mask eventually to treat you or your children.
New Guidelines for Visiting Sims Orthodontics
Sims Orthodontics has worked tirelessly to implement new guidelines that will allow for a safe and enjoyable experience for our patients during the time of COVID. Here’s an overview of what they are:
- Patients are not permitted to bring others to their appointment. Please leave your spouse, children, friends, and others at home so we can easily limit the number of people in our office.
- Patients must call us once they are in our parking lot. Once you do, we’ll let you know when we’re ready for you to come in.
- The Sims Orthodontics team will take the temperatures of all patients. You should also be prepared for them to scan and review the COVID-19 screening form and treatment consent form.
